Things I’ve discovered while living in Japan…
- one must walk (and drive) on the left, this includes riding the escalator
- toilet technology here is light years ahead of the US – they are electronic including heated seats, bidet and shower both with warm water, and built-in deodorizers… it’s as if they thought about it
- all sentences in japanese end in a verb – like how yoda talks in star wars
- chopsticks (hashi) are indeed easy to eat with than a fork and spoon

Toilet technology is also light years behind us at the same time. Susan described the “Western Style” toilet. The Japanese toilet is still a hole in the floor with a flusher, similar to the Turk that i experienced all too often when i lived in france. I prefer the Western Style… and believe it or not, i am getting used to the bidet function. I’ll spare you the details.
